Photo & Video Doctor

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Photo & Video Doctor ("the app") is built by an independent developer, the maker of Music Library Doctor. This page explains what data the app and this website handle, and what they deliberately never touch.

Your photos and videos stay on your computer

Scanning, comparing, previews and clean-up all run on your own computer. No photo, video, thumbnail, file name or folder path is ever sent to us or to anyone else. When you scan your Photos library, the app reads a temporary copy of the library's database on your Mac and changes nothing. Items are removed only when you confirm: files go to the Trash and Photos items to "Recently Deleted" (or to an album you delete yourself), so you can restore them.

What our server stores

The app talks to our own server (photovideodoctor.com) only for licensing and the free allowance. It stores:

We do not store your name, email address or IP address on our server. Your country is read from your connection only to show the right regional price; it is not saved. The app sends no analytics, no usage tracking and no crash reports.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, which processes payment, tax and invoicing under its own privacy policy. We receive your order number and email address from Lemon Squeezy to issue your license key; the email address is written into the key on your device and shown on your receipt, not kept in our license records.

Updates

When it starts, the app asks photovideodoctor.com whether a newer version exists, sending only its own version number. Updates are signed; the app installs one only when you choose to.

This website

No cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The page asks our server for the regional price, nothing else.

Your choices

To remove a device from your license, use "Deactivate" in the app. To have the records for your order or device deleted, or for any question about this policy, email support@photovideodoctor.com.
